Our Roots and the Importance of Community

Anna Petruolo

Anna grew up in Buffalo, New York where she lived until her wanton spirit drove her west in 1996. The majority of her years were spent in the retail industry learning about people.

In 2006 she decided to put the skills from her retail history with her family background in Italian cooking and became a personal chef. Since then, Anna has enjoyed getting to know local farmers and mastering food seasonality.

Anna treasures the relationships she has made and the knowledge of local food in the Greater Vancouver area. She donates her time and talents to many local organizations and is currently a board member with the Clark County Food System Council.

Lisa Robbins

Growing up near farms in Brush Prairie, Washington Lisa thought everyone's food came from the garden, dairy, forests and rivers. It wasn't until high school she realized this was not the way everyone lived. With eyes closed and a smile on her face Lisa states, "Everyone should taste a carrot just pulled from the earth, and baby new potatoes...heavenly."

Lisa volunteers regularly in the community and is a strong advocate for volunteerism for all. "There is something for everyone when it comes to volunteering", says Lisa.
